Have you ever wanted to learn to throw on a potters' wheel?

This class is meant for you. Throwing I is for students with no to little throwing experience. Come learn at Make Waynesboro Clay Studio in Waynesboro, VA.

This class is designed to give you an introduction into the basics of making pottery on a potters' wheel. No experience necessary! We will first instruct you in how to center the clay on the wheel, and from there you will learn how to create shape for cups, bowls, and vases. The final class will be reserved for learning the basics of glazing the works you choose to have fired in the kiln. By the end of the 6-week session, you will have gone through the whole process-- from starting a form on the wheel to seeing it glazed and finished, and you will have a few finished pieces to take home!

Students in this class must be at least 16 years old.

What's it cost? What's the fee include?

A six-week class session costs $150.00 per student. Members of the SVAC and SAAC receive a 10% discount.
The $150 class fee includes 6 weeks of instruction, clay, use of studio tools, and firing credit. (Firing credit is limited. You'll be able to bisque some of your pieces, and glaze fire up to a half-shelf of work. Trust us-- that's enough. If you want to fire more, you'll be able to pay extra for it.)
